InstantID Business Search

The LexisNexis® InstantID® Business (formerly LexisNexis® Business InstantID® 2.0) search is a verification system that reports the degree to which a set of input business elements match the business entity information that is on record at LexisNexis® Risk Solutions.

Before you begin this task:
  • Depending on your product subscription, you may not have access to this search.
  • Your DPPA (Driver’s Privacy Protection Act), GLBA (Gramm‐Leach‐Bliley Act), and DMF (Death Master File) permissible use selections appear at the bottom of the form. Click the links if you need to change your permissible use selections before you run a new search.
  • To view a sample report that is generated from this search, click Sample Report.
  • To view source information for this search, click Source.

At a minimum, you must provide information in one of the following field groups:

  • Company Name, Street, City, and State
  • Company Name, Street, and ZIP Code
Procedure:
  1. Enter the name of the company.
  2. Enter the DBA (doing business as) name.
  3. Enter the tax ID.
  4. Enter the street address with or without numbers.
    You can also include any other details (for example, Ave, St, Ct, or Blvd).
  5. Enter the city.
  6. Select the state.
  7. Enter the ZIP Code (for example, 12345 or 12345-6789).
  8. Enter a complete phone number with or without dashes, spaces, periods, or an area code (for example, 1234567891, (123)4567891, 123 456 7891, 123 4567891 , 123-456-7891, 123.456.7891, 456-7891, or (123) 456 7891) (optional).
  9. To search for authorized representatives, enter the authorize representative information.

    Authorized Representative parameters can verify up to five authorized representatives who are associated with the business. The parameters can also reveal more in-depth links between the business and associated people, including links to contacts in the business’s records and authorized representatives who are found on file in the business’s records.

    To initiate a search, you must enter information in at least the Last Name and First Name fields. You can enter information in multiple fields to increase your search precision. When you submit common names, complete as many fields as you can to avoid large result sets.

    1. Enter the SSN (Social Security number).
    2. Enter the last name.
    3. Enter the first name.
    4. Enter the middle name or the middle initial.
    5. Enter the street address with or without numbers.

      You can also include any other details (for example, Ave, St, Ct, or Blvd).

    6. Enter the city.
    7. Select the state.
    8. Enter the ZIP Code (for example, 12345).
    9. Enter a complete phone number with or without dashes, periods, or an area code (for example, 1234567891, (123)4567891, 123 456 7891, 123 4567891 , 123-456-7891, 123.456.7891, 456-7891, or (123) 456 7891).
    10. Select one of the following options:
      • Select Date of Birth, and enter the DOB (date of birth) in the MM/dd/yyyy format (for example, 02/14/1963).
      • Select Age, and enter an age to narrow the search results.
    11. Enter the driver license number.
    12. Select the state in which the license was issued.
  10. To associate your search with a customer or a topic, provide a label (for example, the customer's name or a topic name) in the Reference ID field.
    The History function lets you view the searches that are associated with a reference ID.
    Note Your organization may require a reference ID in a particular format. Additionally, the contents of this field may be automatically completed or the field may have restrictions that are configured by your administrator.
  11. Select a report type.
  12. To set the watchlist threshold, select a watchlist setting.
  13. If you entered authorized representative information, then you can adjust the results settings:
    The switches are set to ON by default.
    • To filter the results based on how recently the authorized representative data was available, select a recency option.

      The default option is 12 Months.

    • To allow or to not allow for more than one SSN to be returned, toggle the Allow Multiple SSNs switch.
    • To include or to exclude PO Boxes from the results, toggle the Allow P.O. Box switch.
    • To verify or to not verify the driver license number and the driver license state, toggle the Verify Drivers License switch.
  14. Click Search.
