Knowledge-Based Authentication
InstantID Q&A features a knowledge-based query process to instantly authenticate individuals at the point of customer contact. KBA (knowledge-based authentication) is an intuitive and interactive question and answer process that dynamically generates non-intrusive, multiple-choice questions with the use of sophisticated analytics.
How it Works
InstantID Q&A uses the following methods to verify an individual's identity.
Identification Data Entered
InstantID Q&A uses this data in conjunction with advanced data-linking technology and billions of public records and non-credit data to generate a unique question sequence.
Authentication Questions Posed and Answered
These questions delve deep into the customer’s profile, utilizing information such as familiar relationships and former residences. These unique questions are answerable by the individual being identified, but they are very hard for fraudsters to respond to, anticipate, or research.
Instant Results Returned
InstantID Q&A returns simple pass or fail results. You can store transaction histories for auditing purposes, analysis, and trend monitoring.
Identity Verification cannot complete a verification quiz on a person who is less than 18 years old. InstantID Q&A does not allow you to enter a DOB (date of birth) that is less than 18 years old on a verification form. If you do not provide the user's DOB but Identity Verification determines from located records that the age of the user is less than 18, then Identity Verification returns an Individual Not Located message. |
InstantID Q&A is not a consumer reporting agency as defined by the federal FCRA (Fair Credit Reporting Act), 15 USC 1681 et seq. Reports that Authentication Solutions provides are not consumer reports and may not be used to determine eligibility for credit, employment, insurance underwriting, tenant screening, or for any other purpose that is governed by the FCRA. |
