Mergerstat Source
The Houlihan Lokey's Mergerstat Review, the leading source of M&A market research and analysis over the past 30 years, is an annual publication that tracks mergers and acquisitions activity involving U.S. companies.
The publication reports and analyzes publicly announced acquisitions of $1 million or more in 50 industry classifications to help make your merger and acquisition research easier, faster, and more productive.
Each year Mergerstat tracks thousands of transactions and potential transactions. While Mergerstat attempts to collect complete information on each transaction, this is not possible in many cases, particularly with private companies. Therefore, you should use caution in drawing conclusions when the number of data points is low relative to the total number of transactions recorded. Furthermore, while Mergerstat attempts to point out trends, each transaction has specific factors which affect its pricing. Therefore, you should examine each transaction on its own merit before drawing any conclusions.
