Results for the Find a Business search are sorted in order of the most relevant to least relevant, based on the information you entered.

Report and Results Elements and Icons

Reports and results contain elements that provide information to help you complete additional research actions.

Reports and results may contain risk indicator flags. Risk indicator flags indicate a potential risk that may need further investigation. For information about risk indicator flags and other informational icons, see Informational and Risk Indicator Icons.

The following table displays the Find a Business results page properties.

Column Name Details
All The All column lets you select sections of the document to print or download. Select All to print or download the items and sections that are included in the results.
Business Name The Business Name column displays the full name of the business and its address. Some companies do business under one name, but have a different legal name, or have many locations. For this reason, you may see additional names and addresses.

The More Searches icon () is displayed if additional searches are available for a result. Click (More Searches) to view additional search possibilities.

The View Map icon () is displayed if the address can be viewed on a map. Click (View Map) to view the location.

caution.pngAs of August 31, 2017, the View Map feature is no longer supported in Microsoft Internet Explorer 7, 8, or 9.

note.pngIf the data indicates that a business has ceased to operate, then a Defunct flag is displayed. When LexisNexis® Risk Solutions has no data indicating that the business is defunct, but has not received any updated records in 24 months or longer, the business is flagged as Inactive.
Company ID The Company ID column displays the LexID® number for the business, Legal Entity ID, and the Tax ID (usually a FEIN (federal employer identification number)), where applicable.
Phone The Phone column displays phone numbers that may be associated with the business. Risk and information icons indicate information about the phone number.

The More Searches icon () is displayed if additional searches are available for a result. Click (More Searches) to view additional search possibilities.

The Phone column may include the following additional searches:

  • Click Get Persons with Phone to run a Find a Person search to find people that are associated with the phone number.
  • Click Get Businesses with Phone to run a Find a Business search to find businesses that are associated with the phone number.
Actions The Actions column includes additional actions that are available for the results, including additional searches and reports that you may want to generate to further investigate. Click (Open in New Window) to open the report in a new window.

Depending on the input search criteria, additional actions might be available for you to review.

  1. Click We Also Found.

    You may see options to view SOS (Secretary of State) records, UCC (uniform commercial code) liens, Real Property records, and motor vehicle records.

  2. Select the boxes for the types of records you want.
  3. Click Get.
