Business Assurance Principal Search
You can use the principal option to perform a LexisNexis® Business Assurance search.

- Boolean search characters are not accepted for this search request.
- Fields that you must complete are indicated with an asterisk (*).
- To clear all of the information that you enter, click Reset Form.
Procedure
- If it is not already selected, click Principal.

Select the type of report that you want to receive. The following reports are
available:
- Select Base Business Principal to obtain a report
that contains results for the following items:
- OFAC (Office of Foreign Assets Control)
- Bankruptcy
- Judgement
- Federal Tax Liens
- State Tax Liens
- Federal Civil Litigation
- State Civil Litigation
- Select Comprehensive Business Principal to obtain
a report that contains results for the following items:
- SmartLinx®
- Person Report
- OFAC
- Bankruptcy
- Judgement
- Federal Tax Liens
- State Tax Liens
- Federal Civil Litigation
- State Civil Litigation
- Foreclosure
- Federal Felony and Misdemeanor
- State Felony and Misdemeanor
- UCC (uniform commercial code) 5-Year search
- Negative Publicity
- Select Base Business Principal to obtain a report
that contains results for the following items:
- Enter the SSN (Social Security number) with or without dashes or spaces (for example, 123456789, 123-45-6789, or 123 45 6789).
- Enter the subject's DOB (date of birth) in the MM/dd/yyyy format (for example, 02/14/1963).
- Enter the last name.
- Enter the first name.
- Enter the middle name or the middle initial.

Enter the street address with or without numbers.
You can also include any other details (for example, Ave, St, Ct, or Blvd).
- Enter the city.
- Select the state.
- Enter the ZIP Code (for example, 12345 or 12345-6789).
- Enter the county name.
- Enter a complete phone number with or without dashes, spaces, periods, or an area code (for example, 1234567891, (123)4567891, 123 456 7891, 123 4567891, 123-456-7891, 123.456.7891, 456-7891, or (123) 456 7891).
- Enter the work phone number and extension.

If the person has alias names (AKA (also known as) names), enter them. These aliases may include the following parts of a name:
- Another last name that is associated with the person
- Another first name that is associated with the person
- Another middle name or middle initial that is associated with the person

To associate your search with a customer or a topic, provide a label (for
example, the customer's name or a topic name) in the Reference
ID field.
The History function lets you view the searches that are associated with a reference ID.
Your organization may require a reference ID in a particular format. Additionally, the contents of this field may be automatically completed or the field may have restrictions that are configured by your administrator. -
Click Continue.
The next page loads and the Order Steps indicator changes from 1 Principal Information to 2 Confirm & Submit Order.
To return to the previous screen, click the previous step in the Order Steps indicator. -
Review the order details and estimated fee for the report. You can complete either of the following actions, if needed:
- To revise the details, click Edit Order.
- To obtain additional copies of the report, select Request copies for all records.
Fee Notice: Additional fees apply for copies. Click the Fee Notice link to view details about the fees. - Enter your contact information to receive status updates.

Click Submit Order.
LexisNexis® Risk Solutions processes the order. Orders that are received after 15:00 Eastern Time (UTC (coordinated universal time) -4/-5) are submitted on the next business day. All Federal holidays are observed. Reports are normally returned within five to seven days; however, the turn-around time varies according to the jurisdiction where the report is sourced.
What to do next
After you receive an email indicating that the report is ready, or after you notice
that the Direct-to-Source Results tab in a Direct-to-Source
search form displays a number that indicates that one or more reports are ready, access
the report. To access a report, complete either of the following actions:- Click Direct-to-Source Results under the Direct-to-Source category on your home page.
- In one of the Direct-to-Source search forms, click the Direct-to-Source Results tab at the top of the page.
