Business Assurance Business Search

You can use the business option to perform a LexisNexis® Business Assurance search.

  • Boolean search characters are not accepted for this search request.
  • Fields that you must complete are indicated with an asterisk (*).
  • To clear all the information you have entered, click Reset Form.
Procedure
  1. If it is not already selected, click Business.
  2. Select the type of report you want to receive. The following reports are available:
    • Select Base Business to obtain a report that contains results for the following items:
      • Bankruptcy
      • Federal Civil Litigation
      • Federal Tax Liens
      • Judgement
      • OFAC (Office of Foreign Assets Control)
      • State Civil Litigation
      • State Tax Liens
    • Select Commercial Real Estate to obtain a report that contains results for the following items:

    • Select Commercial Leasing to obtain a report that contains results for the following items:

    • Select Partner/Vendor to obtain a report that contains results for the following items:

  3. Enter the name of the company.
  4. Enter the TIN (taxpayer identification number) or the FEIN (federal employer identification number).
    This is the number that the IRS (Internal Revenue Service) uses to identify a company for tax purposes (for example, 111222333).
  5. Enter the street address with or without numbers.
    You can also include any other details (for example, Ave, St, Ct, or Blvd).
  6. Enter the city.
  7. Select the state.
  8. Enter the ZIP Code (for example, 12345 or 12345-6789).
  9. Enter the county name.
  10. Enter the work phone number and extension.
  11. Enter the DBA (doing business as) name of the business (for example, JXYM Enterprises Incorporated).
  12. To associate your search with a customer or a topic, provide a label (for example, the customer's name or a topic name) in the Reference ID field.
    The History function lets you view the searches that are associated with a reference ID.
    note.pngYour organization may require a reference ID in a particular format. Additionally, the contents of this field may be automatically completed or the field may have restrictions that are configured by your administrator.
  13. Click Continue.
    The next page loads and the Order Steps indication changes from 1 Business Information to 2 Confirm & Submit Order.

  14. Review the order details and estimated fee for the report. You can complete either of the following actions, if needed:
    • To revise the details, click Edit Order.
    • To obtain additional copies of the report, select Request copies for all records.

  15. Enter your contact information to receive status updates.
  16. Click Submit Order.
    LexisNexis® Risk Solutions processes the order. Orders that are received after 15:00 Eastern Time (UTC (coordinated universal time) -4/-5) are submitted the next business day. All Federal holidays are observed. Reports are normally returned within five to seven days; however, the turn-around time varies according to the jurisdiction where the report is sourced.
What to do next
After you receive an email indicating that the report is ready, or after you notice that the Direct-to-Source Results tab in a Direct-to-Source search form displays a number that indicates that one or more reports are ready, access the report. To access a report, complete either of the following actions:
  • Click Direct-to-Source Results under the Direct-to-Source category on your home page.
  • In one of the Direct-to-Source search forms, click the Direct-to-Source Results tab at the top of the page.
