Phone Finder Source

The LexisNexis® Phone Finder source is comprised of phone content and information from a primary database of more than 1,500 sources (including credit bureau information, utility records, and more).

Results are tailored based on the information that you enter. The following sections detail what information may be returned.
Phone number
Returned information includes all available information for that phone number, including up to 10 subjects for the phone and other important details about the phone number such as the type of phone, active status, phone and subject association dates, and much more.
Search by any combination of Name, Address, SSN (Social Security number) and/or LexID® number
The search seeks to find an identity based on the input criteria. If more than one identity is found for the input, a pick-list of identities is provided to select the subject of the Phone Finder search. Information returned for the subject includes the best phone for the subject, name and address, a comprehensive list of additional ranked phones for the subject, other people that are associated with the best phone, and other details about the best phone.
The Find by Phone search method lets you complete a Line Risk Assessment Search on an input phone number. This assessment is based on seven customer configurable rules designed to help you complete risk verification checks against a phone number before you can send an authentication one-time password. Porting history, spoofing history, and one-time password activity is assessed to return a value of either Pass, Warn, or Fail. These values indicate the risk level of the phone number. You can only send a one-time password to phone numbers that return a Pass.

If you have LexisNexis® One Time Password (OTP) International enabled, OTP forms attempt to automatically populate the country field if the phone number includes an area code from one of the following five countries:

  • Bahamas
  • Canada
  • Jamaica
  • Puerto Rico
  • United States
note.pngIf the area code is not recognized, then the country field value default is the United States.
