Email Risk Assessment Report

The LexisNexis^® Email Risk Assessment report is compiled based on the report type that you select in the search form.

Depending on your product subscription and administrative settings, you may not have access to the report or some of the information in the report.

The following report types are available:

Basic: The Basic option searches in-house LexisNexis^® Risk Solutions and ThreatMetrix^® content to provide the best subjects who are associated with an email address and the email address metadata points. This option also provides additional metadata for the email address status using a real-time email gateway. The Basic option displays an email risk indicator that is based on configurable business rules and metadata points that are associated with the email address.
Basic – Risk Only: The Basic – Risk Only option searches in-house LexisNexis Risk Solutions and ThreatMetrix content to display an email risk indicator that is based on configurable business rules and metadata points that are associated with the email address. Subject and content data points that are associated with the email address are not displayed.
Premium: The Premium option returns all of the information that is included in the Basic search plus additional subjects and detailed information that is associated with the email address, which is available through an additional real-time email gateway, for a deeper analysis of the email address risk.
Premium – Risk Only: The Premium – Risk Only option returns all of the information that is included in the Basic – Risk Only search plus additional subjects and detailed information that is associated with the email address, which is available through an additional real-time email gateway, for a deeper analysis of the email address risk. Subject and content data points that are associated with the email address are not displayed.

You can search by an email address or you can search by an email address and PII (personally identifiable information).

If you search by email address, all of the available information that is associated with the email address is returned. If you search by email address and PII, additional information that can help you verify identities that are associated with the email address is also returned.

Risk Indicator Summary

This section provides relevant information about the email address.

Email

This field returns the email address that was searched.

Risk Indicator

The risk indicator indicates the risk level of the email address. The risk indicator is based on the customer-configurable risk rules, the risk assessment that is provided by ThreatMetrix, and third-party analytical data points.

The third-party analytical data points are only used to assess risk when you select a premium report type.

Possible values:

Pass
Warn
Fail

Risk Alerts

This field displays the risk rules and risk descriptions that are true based on the risk assessment. Risk alerts are only displayed when the risk indicator value is Fail or Warn.

Email Status

This section provides relevant risk information that is associated with the email address and the domain.

Email Delivery Status

This field returns the status of the email address.

Email Creation Date

This field returns the date and time that the email address was created.

Email First Seen

This field returns the date and time of the first time that the email was seen by LexisNexis Risk Solutions sources.

Email Last Seen

This field returns the date and time of the last time that the email was seen by LexisNexis Risk Solutions sources.

Industry Seen In

This field returns the industry of the most recent company that marked the email address as fraudulent.

Email Fraud Reported

This field indicates whether fraud has been reported against the email address.

Possible values:

Email Fraud Risk Reason Type/Date Reported

This field returns the type of fraud that was specified for the email address and the date of the event.

Domain Profile

This section provides relevant metadata information that is associated with the domain of the email address.

Domain Name

This field returns the domain name of the email address (for example, gmail.com).

Valid Domain

This field indicates whether the domain exists.

Domain Risk Level

This field returns a description of the risk level of the domain.

Possible values:

Very High
High
Moderate
Low
Very Low
Review

Company

This field returns the name of the company that is associated with the subject.

Company Domain Name

This field returns the domain name of the company email address (for example, gmail.com).

Domain Creation Date

This field returns the date that the domain was created.

Domain Country Associated

This field returns the country in which the company that owns the domain name is located.

Risky Domain Country Indicator

This field indicates whether the domain is from a country that is flagged as risky.

Domain Category

This field returns the category of the company that owns the domain name (for example, Personal).

Is Domain Corporate

This field indicates whether the domain name is a corporate domain name.

Relevant Domain Info

This field indicates how relevant the risk is for the domain.

Email Profile Details

This section provides relevant information about the subjects who are associated with the email address. This section can return up to 25 subjects.

Name Associated: This field returns the first name and last name of the subject who is associated with the primary phone number.
Address Associated: This field returns the best address for the subject, or the address that is associated with the subject and the email address.
LexID^®: This field returns a LexID number for the subject who is associated with the email address. The LexID number is a unique identifier obtained from most LexisNexis Risk Solutions searches that uniquely identifies an individual. The LexID number is provided when available.
First Association Seen: This field returns the date that the subject was first seen associated with the email address.
Last Association Seen: This field returns the date that the subject was last seen associated with the email address.

Social Media Details

This section returns the social media information that is associated with the email address.

Social Media Association: This field returns the social media information that is associated with the email address.
Number of Social Media Friends: This field returns the total number of social media friends that the subject who is associated with the email address has.
